★★★★★
“Probably the best hat I’ve ever purchased! Very warm and a very cool look and fit. My wife even likes it and she hates hats.”
A Closer Look
Looks like a cap. Warms like a beanie.
The Warm One Cap looks like a traditional six-panel ballcap — classic twill, structured front, 3D-embroidered logo, mid-height crown — because that's exactly what it is. The difference is hidden inside: a thick sherpa fleece liner, the same stuff used in premium winter mid-layers, that turns a fall accessory into real cold-weather gear.
The team colors are exact, the logo is officially licensed and 3D-embroidered, and the hook-and-loop backstrap adjusts from 6 7/8 to 7 5/8. We built it because we wanted a cold-weather hat we'd actually wear in public, and the only honest answer was a ballcap with a secret. No ear flaps. No pom-poms. No tradeoffs.

The Backstory
Let's talk about ear flaps
The Warm One Insulated Cap didn’t start out as a baseball cap. We knew we wanted a cold-weather hat in the BCKR line, so we set out to make one with warm ear flaps that we would consider wearing in public.
After reviewing dozens of samples and design renderings, I’m here to announce that making ear-flap hats look cool is an impossible task. Kyle Broflovski may be the only one who can pull these off. I know what you’re thinking: what about Elmer Fudd? Take another look at old Elmer and you’ll see that even he was nearly exclusively flaps-up.
Before you buy.
Is the White Out Warm One Cap a limited run?
Yes, on purpose. We made one run of white Warm One Caps for this year's White Out, and we sized it for the night, not for the warehouse. Once this run is gone, it's gone. We'd rather make a hat that belongs to one of the best nights in college football than one that sits on your shelf until March.
What happens when it sells out?
It will sell out. When it does, the notify me button on this page stays live. Drop your email and we'll message you when we make another run of the white Warm One Cap. You'll hear about it before anyone else does. No raffle, no guesswork.
When is the next run?
We don't have a date to share yet, and we won't promise one we can't keep. Good gear takes time to make, and we don't cut corners to rush a restock. Sign up on this page and you'll be the first to know when it's on the way.
Will my hat arrive before the 2026 White Out?
The White Out is Saturday, Oct. 10, at Beaver Stadium. Order by 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and it ships from Austin with guaranteed two-day delivery, in hand before kickoff. Miss the cutoff and we can't promise it'll make it by gameday, but it'll be just as warm at every cold game the rest of the season.
Why white?
Because one night a year, more than 100,000 people in Beaver Stadium agree on exactly one thing to wear. Penn State asks its fans to show up in white, and the White Out has become one of the loudest, most intimidating scenes in the sport. A lot of fans get the shirt right and the hat wrong. This one finishes the look.
Is the Warm One Cap a good White Out hat?
It might be the best one ever made. The White Out is a night game in mid-October, and Happy Valley cools off fast once the sun drops behind the stands. The Warm One Cap is a structured ballcap with a thick sherpa fleece liner inside, so you stay warm through four quarters and stay in white the whole time. You don't have to pick between living the tradition and being comfortable.
Will white show dirt? How do I keep it clean?
It's white, so it'll show what you put it through. That's part of the deal. Hand wash it cold and let it line dry. No bleach and no iron, even when the bleach is tempting. Treat it right and it'll keep its shape for a lot of White Outs to come.
Why wear a fleece-lined ballcap instead of a beanie?
A beanie keeps your head warm by covering all of it. The Warm One Cap takes a different approach. It's a structured ballcap with a thick sherpa fleece liner hidden inside, so you get real cold-weather warmth across the top of your head without giving up the brim, the structure, or the logo front and center. Need ear coverage? Pull up a hood or zip your jacket to the chin, and you're set.
How warm is it really?
Warm enough that you'll forget it's October in Central Pennsylvania. The liner is the same sherpa fleece used in premium winter mid-layers, and it traps body heat across the top of your head, where you lose the most. It won't match a thick beanie pulled down over your ears. It is a serious upgrade over any standard team ballcap, and warm enough on its own for late-fall night games.
Is the Warm One Cap waterproof?
No, this one's built for cold, not wet. When the forecast turns ugly, that's a job for the Dry One Cap, our fully waterproof hat. We don’t have the Penn State Dry One Cap yet, but we do have the Dry One Waterproof Coat on the way for Nittany Lion fans and that hood is also fully waterproof.
Is BCKR officially licensed by Penn State?
Yes. Every Penn State Nittany Lions product is officially licensed through The Pennsylvania State University. The logos, colors, and trademarks are all authorized. We're not a brand that licenses a logo and calls it a day. We make gear at the standard Penn State fans expect.
Does the Warm One Cap cost more than other team hats?
A little. The difference in what it does is a lot bigger. The sherpa fleece liner turns it into real cold-weather gear, and the limited white run makes it a hat you won't see on every other head in the parking lot. It's the difference between a hat that looks the part and one that does the job. If you're wearing one ballcap to the White Out, make it this one.
Will it fit my head?
How big's your head? The hook-and-loop backstrap adjusts from hat size 6 7/8 to 7 5/8, which covers most adult heads. The crown has a structured front and a mid-height profile, so it sits like a traditional ballcap instead of slouching.
Is the Warm One Cap just for gamedays?
Heck no. It was made for the White Out, but it's the ballcap you'll want for cold tailgates, early-morning dog walks, and the sideline of your kid's soccer game in November. The color is White Out white. The construction is premium outdoor. We built it so your team hat could also be the best cold-weather ballcap you own.
How does the Warm One Cap fit with the rest of the BCKR system?
BCKR builds gear as a system, designed to work together head to toe. In the Penn State lineup, the Warm One Cap is the cold-weather piece and the Cool One pullover is the UPF sun layer for hot September Saturdays. The Dry One Jacket, is the waterproof shell for the kind of rain that rolls into Happy Valley without warning. Layer a warm midlayer under it, put the Warm One Cap on top, and a cold, wet White Out doesn't stand a chance.
Is the logo embroidered or printed?
It's high-definition embroidery. The Warm One Cap is built on traditional twill, the same material used in premium ballcaps across the outdoor and sporting worlds, and embroidery is the right application for it. The stitching is tight and dimensional, with Penn State's exact colors rendered cleanly in every detail of the logo. There's nothing to peel, crack, or fade, because the logo is part of the hat, not applied on top of it.
Why haven't I heard of BCKR before?
We're an independent brand, with no corporate parent and no Super Bowl ads yet. We were founded by outdoor industry veterans, including the team that helped scale YETI from a regional cooler company into a global brand. We're based in Austin, we ship every order ourselves, and every package gets a handwritten note. You're hearing about us now because word is getting out.
