Product Overview
Ask any dermatologist and they'll tell you the tips of your ears and back of your neck are two of the most vulnerable spots for sun burns and skin cancer. The Cool One UPF Bucket Hat covers both of those areas while keeping things breezy, thanks to the ultra-breathable Toray DotAir fabric. This is the same fabric we use on the back of our best selling Cool One UPF Pullover. Add in a cooling sweatband, a semi-stuctured brim, and a rear cinch cord for fine adjustments and you've got what we think is the best sun hat in the game.
Is It Really Better?
The premium Toray DotAir fabric gives this hat breathability you won't find in other officially licensed buckets. The semi-structured brim keeps this hat looking clean, too, compared to unstructured brims that leave you with wavy Carl Spackler or Gilligan-like looks.

The Cool One UPF Bucket Hat comes in two sizes. It also includes an elastic cinch cord for fine adjustments.

SHIPPING + RETURNS
All packages ship from the BCKR warehouse in Austin, Texas. We ship Monday through Friday except on major holidays and when there are disruptions. We try to process all orders within one business day of receiving them, but we’re a small team and it may take slightly longer during busy times. We try to get orders placed before 12PM CT out the same day. It may take a day or two after processing to start receiving tracking updates.
We have a free 30-day no-questions-asked return policy, which means you can return your products within 30 days of receiving your order for any reason so long as they are returned to us in their original condition (unused, unwashed, unaltered, free of mustard and face paint stains). Your original form of payment will be credited with the refund.

If you are not satisfied with a BCKR product when you receive it, or if the product fails at any time due to defects in materials or workmanship, you can return it for a repair or replacement, at our discretion.
This guarantee does not cover damage caused by improper care, accident, negligence, normal wear and tear, the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use, or you starting a fight with an entire visitor section. They’re jackets and hats, not plate armor.

The pursuit of a magical bucket hat
Of the original six products in the BCKR line, the Cool One Bucket Hat took us the longest to dial in. There’s a lot of nuance in making a good bucket hat. The brim needs to be wide enough to offer real sun protection, for one, and a lot of fashion-y buckets conveniently bypass this crucial utility.
If the brim doesn’t have enough structure, it looks sloppy. If it has too much structure, you look slightly Quaker. If the shape is even a little wrong, you may look like you’re either going to a gathering of witches or heading to Coachella. (Or both?) Do you structure the crown? Or let it fall where it may? Do you give the top fabric and seam tape enough structure to have a flat top? Or let it dome slightly to the shape of your head? Getting these things right took a lot of prototypes and more than a few misses.
One thing we didn’t have to spend long figuring out was the fabric. We’d already locked in on Toray DotAir for the body fabric of this hat’s jacket cousin, the Cool One UPF Pullover, and it was an easy decision to carry it over to the hat. We love this stuff. Through a lot of fancy processes that include employing a dissolving thread, this fabric is an ideal combination of breathability and durability.
When we finally dialed in the fit and look that we liked and put the DotAir to work, we knew we had a winner. And with the prototypes we made along the way we’ll be well-outfitted for any folk festivals or covens that we might stumble across.
